HomeTown Radio isn't new -- a Jackson FM station served Amador and Calaveras communities for nearly 30 years. In 2003, the FM station was purchased by a media company for broadcast to Central Valley audiences. Immediately, there was huge demand from listeners and advertisers to replace the lost radio service in the foothill region -- the need for local radio programming including daily news, information and emergency services was clear. Jim Guidi, long-time operations manager and on-air personality for the former FM station, reopened the Jackson station broadcasting on the SCA band. Today HomeTown Radio carries on as the only source of immediate local and world news for this vibrant Gold Country region.
